Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and educationist Madan Mohan Malviya to get Bharat Ratna award

The Union government on Wednesday affirmed the prestigious Bharat Ratna, India's most astounding regular citizen honor, for former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and freedom fighter, educationist Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya.

A gathering of the Union Cabinet was assembled here on Wednesday where the choice to give the honor on Vajpayee and Malviya was taken.

The proclamation harmonizes with Vajpayee's birthday on December 25 which the legislature has effectively pronounced as the 'Good Governance Day'.

A Bharat Ratna for Madan Mohan Malaviya, opportunity warrior and educationist prevalently known as 'Mahamana', was one of the guarantees made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid his decision fights.
