Speculations have been ripe for the last two months or so about new cars coming up from TATA stable.
Early bird information & spy shots indicate that something is definitely is happening under the TATA hood.
For the last 3 years TATA MOTORS has been grappling with plummeting sales. Despite all the efforts, none of the tricks have worked for them. In addition to this, a continuous downfall in the economy & increased demand for petrol vehicles has added to their vows.
In order to survive in such troubled waters TATAs have been working on new strategies for quite some time. On 20th Jan ’14, a new petrol engine named REVOTRON, an all new 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged, intercooled, multi-point fuel injected (MPFI) petrol motor, was launched from their stable. It is the first of its kind to be indigenously developed in India. The engine has been developed in association with Austrian global engine consultant AVL and other technological players like Bosch, Honeywell, Mahle and INA. The engine develops 83.8bhp at 5,000rpm and 14.3kgm of torque at 1,750-3,500rpm. With these impressive figures, now cars based on this engine are lined up to be launched at the upcoming auto expo.

From reliable sources these are to be named FALCON 4 & FALCON 5. F4 will be in the premium hatchback segment while F5 will fill in the sedan segment. From spy shots taken on the roads, these cars seem to be just an upgrade to the existing INDICA VISTA & INDIGO MANZA series. If this is true than customer may have to wait & watch the market response to these cars before buying them. At present the existing TATA car design concepts are a bit outdated and it will be interesting to see if the new cars manage to break the ice in their favor.
