BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi is allowed to request an American visa and a choice on it might be made on the process that we have set up, as per a senior US official.
"We said he (Modi) is allowed to request a visa, and we'll settle on a choice dependent upon the process that we have set up here," state department deputy spokesperson Marie Harf told news people at her every day news meeting on Friday.
In 2005, the state department had renounced a visa that Modi had for going to the US in the wake of the 2002 riots in Gujarat.
The US has over and again said there is no change in its long-standing visa strategy identifying with Modi yet he is allowed to seek a visa and anticipate a survey like whatever viable aspirant.
When asked some information about remarks made by Congress party VP Rahul Gandhi in a recent interview on 1984 riots, Harf said, "I haven't seen those remarks."
